1:09Six-seat Model Y L: US delivery estimates now stretch to March 2027
New US orders for the long-wheelbase Model Y L Launch Series now show January to March 2027. Here is what the six-seater costs and what you get.
If you were hoping for a six-seat Tesla Model Y L in the US early next year, you may have to wait a little longer. Tesla's configurator now shows an estimated delivery of January to March 2027 for all configurations of the Model Y L Launch Series, up from January to February a month ago.
What changed
A check of Tesla's US configurator for Seattle, Los Angeles and New York ZIP codes showed the same January to March 2027 window. Some customers have reported even later estimates, of February to April. Tesla has not explained the change.
What the Model Y L is
The Model Y L is a long-wheelbase version of the Model Y with three rows and six seats in a 2+2+2 layout. The second row has captain's chairs, so there is a walkway to the back.
The Launch Series in the US
- Version: Model Y L Premium All-Wheel Drive Launch Series.
- Price: $61,990, plus a $250 order fee.
- Range: 332 miles (about 534 km), EPA estimate.
- Extras: 12 months of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and 12 months of free Supercharging.
Part of a wider pattern
Longer waits are showing up across Tesla's US lineup: in September, the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive already showed no delivery slots left in 2026. In Canada, Tesla has paused new orders for the Model 3 Premium.
For European readers
The Model Y L is already sold in China. Tesla has not announced a European launch, so for families here the Model Y remains a five-seater for now.
